Nicholson Family in Western Samoa This picture makes me think about a particular item that my parents were told to bring with them when we moved to Samoa, which was buttons.  Mum being a knitter and a sewer had a big round tin full of them, big, small, coloured, plain, fancy; all odd buttons.  I think the idea was that these would make nice trinkets for the locals.  I can't help but wonder, being the 70's whether we took the wrong buttons? These buttons? Or These?
